WORKSHOP was formed by Kirsten Hanson-Press and Colleen Dolan-Vinetz. Having done their time in the film industry, Colleen as an agent and Kirsten as a producer, they did even harder time when they became mothers. Trying to juggle careers, marriages and parenthood in the overwhelming sprawl of Los Angeles raised a lot of issues…issues, they soon discovered, shared by many. Thus, WORKSHOP was born with the mission to create dynamic, informative environments where issues can be discussed, options explored, ideas exchanged and most importantly, positive change created.

Kirsten Hanson-Press was a Mass Communication Major at Emerson College in Boston. During her twelve years in the film business working as a producer and production consultant, motherhood was the most elusive goal. With enormous experience in the worlds of infertility and adoption, she worked as a hotline volunteer  and is on the Board of Directors for a national infertility and adoption organization. She began speaking to large groups at conferences and symposiums about alternative family building opportunities. She left the film business to raise her two girls, simultaneously earning her certification in Early Childhood Education and becoming a Certified Co-Active Coach. Creating WORKSHOP was the perfect way to blend her passion for families and service to them.

Colleen Dolan Vinetz grew up all over both the US and Canada before going to The University of Toronto and majoring in English and Drama. After recognizing she had always been an agent in life, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film business. Colleen worked  for some of the top agencies and was a partner/owner of a boutique agency.  She enjoyed guiding and managing the career paths of her clients for twelve years. Before the birth of her second child she struggled with the decision to make a change and chose to delve into the joys and challenges of parenting full time.  As a natural coach and collaborator, Colleen has now chosen to become a co- creator of  WORKSHOP as well as a certified Co-Active Coach and share in the knowledge and process with the community.
